Product description

Chisels are used in SDS-plus or SDS-max hammers and rotary hammers to break concrete, stone and plaster. A point chisel concentrates energy for spot breaking and enlarging holes, while flat and wide chisels are used for surface removal, chasing and tile removal. Length determines working depth and blade width the removal area.

Selection and use tips

The shank (SDS-plus / SDS-max / hex) must match the hammer.
Grease the shank with special grease before use.
Blunt chisels can be sharpened by forging or grinding; overheating destroys the hardness.

Does an SDS-max chisel fit an SDS-plus hammer?

No. The SDS-max shank is 18 mm and SDS-plus 10 mm; the systems are not compatible.
